Water Splash (top)

This
is a clip of a water splash from a high angle. The drop of water fell
through a photogate trigger to start the video camera. The trigger
consists of an infrared emitter and reciever. When the drop hits the
surface of the water, it forms a "crater" in the water.
When this indentation falls back onto itself, it forms the high column
of water. This video was taken at a framerate of 1000 frames/sec and
with a shutter speed of 10X, or 1/10000th of a second.
